With its approx. 4500 inhabitants, Abstatt belongs to the district of Heilbronn and the Stuttgart metropolitan region.

Due to its extremely convenient location directly on the A81 between Heilbronn and Stuttgart, Abstatt is a steadily growing commercial and industrial location.

Abstatt is also a traditional wine-growing town whose vineyards belong to the large Schozachtal vineyard in the Württembergisch Unterland area of the Württemberg wine-growing region.

The “Rälling” is Abstatt's nickname or mocking name, as is common for many communities in the area. According to oral tradition, the young lads from Abstatt used to like to wander to the neighboring villages to woo the fair ladies there. To make themselves known to the ladies, the young men would stand under their windows and meow. Soon the men from Abstatt were only called Rällinge because of this courting. Translated – so you could say – the Rälling is an enterprising tomcat on the lookout for a bride.

In 2007, the “Rälling” took on a three-dimensional form as part of the opening of the Bürgerpark. Scattered throughout the municipality – but mainly in the Bürgerpark itself – you can now find individually designed and unique Rällings. We also have our own Rälling. Our “Schlemmi” is sitting in front of our house today and welcomes our guests in a friendly manner.

The nearest train station is in Heilbronn, 14 km away. From there you can reach the cities of Stuttgart, Ludwigsburg, Karlsruhe, Heidelberg, Würzburg or Schwäbisch Hall at regular intervals.

You can reach Heilbronn main station directly from Abstatt by bus (line 642), the journey time is approx. 35 minutes. We are also happy to order you a cab.
